Gayle L. Goudy
A Kansas native now based in Charleston, she is an art and architectural historian whose work explores intersections of visual culture, religion, gender, and the built environment. She earned her Ph.D. in Art & Architectural History from the University of Oregon and has taught at the College of Charleston as well as in community and faith-based settings. Her publications include Introduction to Architectural History: Understanding the Building Next Door (Kendall Hunt, 2019) and essays on subjects ranging from women and the built environment to Christian imagery in Roman visual culture and the work of contemporary artists.
